Would your younger self feel safe with them – with the people that are currently in your life today?
This question calls on your inner child and is a marker of safety for them. It allows you to reflect on the people around you. It gives rise to more questions. Can you let you your guard down? Do they uplift you? Are they joyful?
Better question – is the person you are today someone your younger self would feel safe with?
This question can bring up reflection of how you treat yourself. More specifically, it can make you take a look at the way you speak to yourself. Is it with love and kindness? Or, do you find yourself battling negative self talk?
You are the only one truly capable of creating safety for your inner child. When your inner child feels safe with the person you have become it means that you are in the thick of your healing. You are finding self compassion, forgiveness and love. You are on the path to living life with full authenticity and rediscovering joy again.
